Eating Poetry

Ink runs from the corners of my mouth.
There is no happiness like mine.
I have been eating poetry.

That was Mark Strand's "Eating Poetry".

Today, they all say: "We can't live on poetry".
But can we live without it?
Without that sense of poetry, the stillness and the energy it enables?
The spaces it opens out.

A good poem is like a clear pool, a joyous clear pool, the best of all spas.

  1. Way to go! The world needs as much poetry as it can get.
